1970
After various jobs from van driving to working in a clothing store I joined Pan Books at the ripe old age of 18 as a trainee working under Ray Smith and Alun Thomas in Tothill Street in London – ended calling on all Central London bookshops.

1972/3
Joined BPC Futura Publications covering the South East – but with a promise of Export. I won Salesman of the Year and got my promotion!

1973
First export trip to Malta…..on my way!

1974
Now with WH Allen as Export Sales Manager covering The World…..great times, great experience and great fun working alongside Colin Gower and Deryck Cheyne.

1980
Set up Magread Publishing in Soho with Henry Kitchen selling own Fiction list as well as representing other Publishers in Europe.

1982
First job outside publishing working for Marketing Solutions Ltd as a Marketing Manager for the Licensed Trade – all my hard work drinking around the world has paid off!!

1983
Liked the drinks industry and found myself working for Norwich Brewery (Grand Met) first as an Area Manager looking after 50 pubs in East Anglia and then into Marketing Department as Brands Manager for Fosters..

1988
Joined Brent Walker (the first pub company) as a Regional Manager and over the years reached the dizzy heights of Regional Director by which time the company had changed its name to Pubmaster. 

2005
After selling out to Punch Taverns I retired for 5 weeks…..boring so….
Went to work for London & Edinborough Pub Co. 

2007
Moved to a friends company – GRS Inns – who sold out to London Town Pub Company….. Still there now but working part time (one month of work – one month of fun – highly recommended!!!).
