I began my publishing career at Oxford Poly on the publishing course and was shortly thereafter offered a job in production at WH Allen working for the inimitable Deryck Cheyne – formerly mentioned in Steve Howe’s entry. We had a great team and I have very fond memories of this time. In the early eighties with cut backs I moved to Sales and ultimately Export... I had a fab time and was well looked after by a lot of you who were already old hands –  a special thanks to David Love. I did a bit of travelling, had some great adventures and ended up at Pan after an interview with Brian Philips at the Goodwood Park in Singapore – where else – comfortably seated round the pool with a G & T! After too brief a time at Pan I moved to Edinburgh and back to the Production department for lots of fun years at Mainstream and now work with Ion Mills at No Exit Press doing more of the same... so I am a bit of a fraud but I wouldn’t have missed it!
